Workshops and Events

Winston's Tea Company participates in many community events and supports qualified groups and organizations in achieving their goals when possible.

We are proud to support Theatre One by participating in the "Bite of Nanaimo", which brings together a number of restaurants, food and beverage suppliers and specialty retailers every fall. This is your opportunity to taste and enjoy many of the excellent specialty products and restaurant foods available in our community.

Seminars and Workshops

Venture into the fascinating world of tea with all its rich history and flavours. We are considering a variety of different tea seminars and tea tastings, which we hope to offer this Summer and early Fall. Seminars will include sampling, course materials and a take home gift.

These events will be held at Country Club Centre, Nanaimo, BC, and will be conducted by our staff and various guest speakers. We expect the seminars to run one to one and a half hours. There will be a charge for participation in these events. Topics being considered include:

• Tea 101, The Fascinating World of Tea. A lesson on the history and production of teas and tisanes.
• Understanding Black Teas. Learn about the different types of black teas - regions, types and estates.
• Green and White Tea Primer. Learn about the fine nuances of some of the worlds most rare and exotic teas.
• Focus on Oolong Teas
• Teas of China
• Teas of Japan
• Rooibos and Herbal Infusions, the other teas.
• Tea and Health. Find out about the benefits tea to your health as you taste the wonderful flavours of selected teas and tisanes.

When we have firmed up dates and times, the information will be posted in the store and on the website.
